Our Commitment

Accuracy is our core mission. Despite rigorous verification processes, errors can occur. When they do, we believe readers deserve:

• Clear explanation of what was wrong
• Transparent record of the correction
• Updated fact-check with accurate information

Types of Corrections

Minor Corrections

Typos, grammatical errors, or minor factual updates that don't affect the overall rating or conclusion. These are corrected in the text with a note at the bottom indicating the change.

Significant Corrections

Errors that affect the substance of a fact-check but don't change the rating. These receive a prominent correction notice at the top of the article explaining what was wrong and how it was fixed.

Rating Changes

In rare cases where new information or an error requires changing our rating (TRUE, FALSE, MISLEADING), we issue a full correction with:

• Bold correction notice at the top
• Explanation of what changed and why
• The original rating (preserved for transparency)
• The new rating with supporting evidence
• Date and time of the correction

What We Never Do

• Delete fact-checks: We never remove published content to hide errors
• Stealth edit: We never change content without noting the correction
• Minimize mistakes: We acknowledge errors fully, not partially
• Blame sources: We take responsibility for our verification failures

How to Report an Error

If you believe we've made an error, please contact us with:

• Link to the fact-check in question
• Specific description of the error
• Evidence supporting your correction
• Your contact information for follow-up

We review all correction requests within 48 hours and respond with our findings.

We maintain a public record of all significant corrections and rating changes. This archive demonstrates our commitment to transparency and allows readers to assess our accuracy over time.
